Dear MotherFolk
Dear MotherFolk is a weekly letter from MotherFolk Founder, Bethan Kitchen, to other mothering folk: an upfront exploration of her own sticky journey through motherhood, and the double-edged role that writing & storytelling play in it.
Bethan also extends the invitation to you - offering gentle tools for you to reclaim your own motherhood story alongside her.
This weekly letter is for the mothers who feel unseen, unheard, or unsupported.
About Bethan
I am an award-winning writer, doula, and creative director from Newcastle, and a Mum of two fierce children.
My work has been staged at the likes of Northern Stage, Live Theatre, Park Theatre London, Theatre Hullabaloo, and English Touring Theatre.
I was founder & Artistic Director of BRASH Theatre Company, Producer & Lead Facilitator at Northern Stage, and have worked as a creative facilitator for the likes of RSC, Pilot Theatre, and Newcastle & Northumbria Universities.
I am certified as a doula with Nurturing Birth.
Through MotherFolk, I bring together my experience as a space-holder, creative director, and writer/mother, to trailblaze towards a new kind of motherhood culture across the UK.
