Join MotherFolk for a stand-alone writing circle dedicated to the lived experience of matrescence - the transformative journey into motherhood.
Drawing on the rhythms of the natural world, this session is a soft place to land. It’s a space to navigate the identity shifts and growth that we experience when we become mothers. We’ll use nature’s cycles to make sense of our own seasons of change.
The circle is an invitation to slow down. Through thoughtful writing prompts, you’ll be guided to unpick your personal story and find a sense of connection with the world around you. You'll be held as you’ve held your babies, and have the chance to reflect and connect with other mothering folk navigating their matresence too.
We will gather in the gorgeous Clitheroe Library Clock Room in a small group of six.

About the host
Hi, I'm Poppy
Circle Holder for Ribble, Aire and Calder
I'm a creative, nature-lover and mother to a curious little boy. I was born and raised in the Ribble Valley, spending most of my time up Pendle Hill as I have navigated each season of my life.
After I gave birth, I needed a creative outlet so I turned to writing. I wanted to make sure I didn’t lose myself as I learned how to be a whole new type of human; a mother.
I’m so excited to be building a community nestled in amongst the hills and valleys that I call home. A community who knows deep in their bones the importance of mothers being at the centre of the story.
