Clitheroe Library Autumn Term

The Clock Room at Clitheroe Library is situated on the 1st floor. Cocooned by stunning views of the Ribble Valley, step away from the noise of the high street, into a soft, green room steeped in history with carved columns, stained glass, and the chimes of the clock tower bells to keep you company as you write. Our Writing Circles are weekly mother & baby groups, using writing & community in beautiful settings to support the transition into motherhood. The circles are open to anyone who self-identities with mothering or motherhood, whatever way that looks. PLEASE NOTE – There will be no circle on Thursday October 1st.

Hi, I'm Poppy

Circle Holder for Ribble, Aire and Calder

I'm a creative, nature-lover and mother to a curious little boy. I was born and raised in the Ribble Valley, spending most of my time up Pendle Hill as I have navigated each season of my life.

After I gave birth, I needed a creative outlet so I turned to writing. I wanted to make sure I didn’t lose myself as I learned how to be a whole new type of human; a mother.

I’m so excited to be building a community nestled in amongst the hills and valleys that I call home. A community who knows deep in their bones the importance of mothers being at the centre of the story.

Absolutely not! Our circles are not writing classes, and they’re not about producing perfect pieces of writing. Writing is simply the tool we use to connect with ourselves and unpack our experiences a little bit. We will always give you very easy prompts to jump into, and you will never be asked to read your writing aloud to the group.
